Final Ward Activity

Today I had a lot of fun. Aside from procrastinating my Spanish final to Tuesday, my ward had it's final hurrah at the Provo Beach place. There's an indoor surfing place, but we were just hanging out on the croquet field, the laser tag, the ropes course, and bowling. It was so much fun. I hung out with Grant and Candice all night, and we had a lot of fun together!

Croquet was pretty cool. We didn't really know what we were doing, but we had fun hitting the ball around. Brother Reich, our ward's second counselor in the bishopric, joined our game.

The ropes course was fun, I conquered my fear of heights and made it across all the obstacles. It was great! Grant was always there with a hand in case I was struggling though.

Laser tag was fun too! It was a lot of our YSA group vs. some random kids that were also in there. Candice ended up on their team somehow, she says we ditched her but I think they just ran out of blue vests haha. Either way her team ended up winning so it worked in her favor. We had fun though.

Bowling was fun too. I won one round, and then Grant won the second. It was great fun. We had nicknames, the first round I was Florida and the second I was Bird. Much fun. My home teacher, David, joined us for our bowling match. Afterwards I got a picture with the other people in my ward who were bowling around us.

Sad because they lost. Happy because I won.
Sad because we lost. Happy because he won. (Candice missed 100 points by 3!! Her face is the "wailing and gnashing of teeth" they talk about in the scriptures lol.

David's funny. His name was Dr. D. Like Maryland cause MD.

Candice had great form. I think she's the only person that bowled correctly lol.

Monopoly Money

Seeing as the semester is winding down, I get to enjoy spending all of the excess money on my meal plan before it goes 'poof' at the end of the semester. So Kirt and Keelee came down and we went to dinner in the CougarEat. It was fun! I also photographed my favorite food at the MOA (Museum of Art). It's the Fontina Cheese Panini with Avocado with Tomato Basil Soup. It's my fave.

Today I stopped into the Wilk and got myself a little mission pride necklace. Most people here with mission calls have tshirts and paraphernalia with regard to their mission, but there wasn't really anything very Temple Squarey, so I got myself a little necklace with the silhouette of the SLC Temple on it. I really like it. :)

Also for your enjoyment, here's a video of Candice trying to pronounce the title of my Spanish textbook. 'Curso Avanzado de Gramática y Composición'

Final TRC and Spanish Party

Tuesday I went to my last TRC session. I met two Elders, one from Argentina and one from Taiwan. I also met a Sister who didn't have a companion from the Dominican Republic. She was funny, she was super embarrassed about her English and didn't feel like she spoke very well, so after the lesson I told her the story of the time when I accidentally told the restaurant owner of La Villa that her bestie had died. Haha my bad. It made the Sister feel way better though.

Later that day I went to a little party at my Spanish professors house. It was so much fun! He made Carne Asada and a rice and beans thing that was really good. He also made grape juice from the grapes in his garden. It was a lot of fun, a lot of people from my class came, I caught a ride from Joe. We even had a little FHE! Foster gave the spiritual thought, and then other people shared their thoughts too. We sang an opening and closing hymn, I taped the opening one a little bit. The closing one I played, it was God Be With You Till We Meet Again, but of course we did everything in Spanish.

Medals Exams

On Wednesday I took the Silver American Medals Exams! It was a lot of fun. What happens is that we dance for a professional, and then they give us a score for each of our dances as well as things that we can do to improve. What makes it more fun is that we get to dance with our teacher! My teacher's name is Ben, and he's awesome. He's part of the BYU Ballroom Dance Touring Company - basically he's fantastic.

ChaCha! I got a 93 on this dance!

Waltz! I got a 93 on this dance!

Swing! I got a 94 on this dance!

Overall, my score

Easter Eggs and Baseball

Today was pretty fun, last Friday of class!! There's only 3 school days left and break is so close I can almost taste it - and then it's off to Spain! Today I had fun though, after class I went home and relaxed, and then at 6:00, Kavan met me for an Easter Egg Hunt! The choirs put on a campus wide Easter Egg Hunt for all choir members and any significant others, BFF's, or good pal's that wanted to come. Kavan came as my good pal ahaha. We ran into one of his friends during the hunt, his name is Parker. I've hung out with Parker a couple times, and he's really cool. Super nice guy. We found some pretty good eggs, lots of candy and even one special egg that won us a bag of Robins Eggs. Yum!

After the Easter Egg Hunt, Kavan and I went to the back end of the BYU baseball game. We were playing some school from California, and honestly I'm not sure who won even though I was there. I think it was us? Yay? Go team? It was pretty chilly by the time we got out of there, and I was mostly concerned with staying warm. It might be in the 70's during the day, but it still gets pretty dang cold at night.

Bye Kels

Kelsey is off to college!! My little baby all grown up! Ahaha. She got into BYUI and she leaves tomorrow to start class on Monday! Today I said goodbye to her for possibly the next 2 years :(

She's taking my backpack. Quality stuff.

Café Rio Lunch Date

We went to Walmart to pick up bins for moving purposes. They were big and didn't fit in the back with all her other stuff, so I carried them on my lap.

Stopped by hospital to get my blood drawn - they gave me an I was brave sticker!

I'll miss you Kels!! <3

Our Final Temple Trip

This morning Erin, Gideon, and I went on our final Thursday morning temple trip. It was so bittersweet! Sweet because it's the temple, bitter because it's our last time. Next Thursday Gideon has an ROTC thing so he won't be able to make it, and since we won't have class Erin and I decided that we didn't want to wake up that early ahaha. We might still go, just later during the afternoon.
