Fall Finds and Tasty Treats

So it's starting to look like Tuesday is going to be the regular temple trip day for me, Erin, and Gideon. We forgot to take temple pictures this morning, but on our way back we found a pumpkin that had been carved and stuck in a tree so we decided to take pictures with it instead.

So this picture is a little rough, but today in instead of a devotional, there was homecoming week kick off! It was a lot of fun, and we got to hear the marching band play. Me and Erin loved that!
Today me and all my roommates decided that today needed some Panda Express, so after we all got out of class we made a Panda run. I love my roommates.

My Awesome Fam

Yesterday was delicious. My cousin Blake picked me up and drove me to Kirt's house for a tasty dinner with a lot of my family! Kirt's family was there, Uncle Dave and all his people (minus Luis), Blake, Cody, Grandma, and me! It was awesome getting to see so much of my family. Super Lez even made a turkey, and there was stuffing!! I love that stuff. (See what I did there) I'm so funny.

We also got to watch the second Presidential debate together. Good times!!

Temples, Smiles, and Bad Food Choices

Today I had the awesome opportunity to go to the Provo City Center Temple with some of the other ladies in Relief Society. The temple is so beautiful, and I'm glad that there are such awesome sisters in my ward that I can go to the temple with!

Also, last Friday was National Smile Day. Looking at this picture, I'm not actually smiling but I tried my best.
So, me and my friend Spencer have Bio together every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and we try to go to the library to do homework after class, but we usually just end up getting lunch in the food court. This is why the Freshmen 15 is a real thing.

To be fair though, the pizza comes with garlic dipping sauce and the fries are way good. Those 15 lbs. will be well worth it.

Corn Maze

I got to go on a super fun date yesterday with a guy named Parker from my social dance class. We had a lot of fun! We went to a little place called Hee Haw Farms, and it was your cute basic little fall farm thing. They had a giant corn maze, a ball pit with corn kernels instead of balls, a hay ride, a pumpkin patch, a petting zoo with goats and rabbits, two pretty big slides, and a little gun thing that was air pressured that they put corn into and you could shoot targets with it. It was super fun. I think the corn maze was my favorite part. That, or the giant slide. It was pretty cold outside, so I was glad that I had brought us both some hand warmers. The hand warmers I have shake up, and they actually last for quite a while! They're a blessing. Anyways, after we left the farm we went back to Parkers apartment and made some Mexican Hot Chocolate and sang karaoke with one of his roommates. Another one of the roommates likes to celebrate national food days, and yesterday was national apple betty day, so we got to eat that too. We had a lot of fun, and it was the perfect end to the day.

Grandparents

Today was awesome! My grandma and grandpa were driving back from their mission in Maryland, and they stopped by Provo to see me! It was so awesome to get to see them! We went to Wendys, and I introduced them to eating their french fries by dipping them in the chocolate shake. I'm pretty sure they were impressed. I love my grandparents so much! I'm so glad that I live closer and will get to see them more often :)

El Espíritu del Templo

This week I was accepted to be an international student through the BYU Study Abroad program and spend the winter semester in Spain. The thing is, I should have been super excited and really pumped about getting accepted. After all, I had worked really hard on a letter of intent and had asked people I knew and respected to be my references, I had dressed up for my interview and I so wanted to get in. After I got accepted however, I just began to feel uneasy about it. I started to think of all the things I would miss out on here at BYU during my last semester of freshman year. The Women's Choir going to General Conference in April, the dances, the dates, the friends, and the overall experience of just being a freshman. I wasn't sure I was ready to give all of that up. So I thought it over, and made a decision. Then I prayed about it. I thought I knew what I should do, but this morning my friends and I went to the Provo Temple. As I sat there waiting for my friend to get changed and then as I sat through the confirmations I was praying about my decision, and I just felt overwhelmed by the Spirit, and now I have no doubt in my mind that I have made the right decision. I know what the Lord wants me to do for winter semester. This upcoming semester, I will be here at BYU. Even though it's hard to pass up on an opportunity like going to Spain, I know this is what the Lord wants me to do, and if He thinks this is best for me, who am I to disagree.

Here are some photos from our trip this morning. The leaves are also starting to change colors here big time. Even the tree outside my window is getting some yellow leaves. It's so beautiful! It's also getting really cold though.. not sure I like that very much.

General Conference Weekend

General Conference weekend is the best! I'm blessed enough to be spending this weekend with some of my extended family in Lehi. Even though my parents and siblings are back in Florida this weekend, I got to hang out with my aunt and uncle, my cousins, and my grandma this weekend! I'm so glad that I now get the opportunity to live so close to them and see my family so often. It's been awesome spending the general conference weekend with my family!
